Cardiovascular disease/diabetes prevention
Cardiovascular Disease Being the number-one killer in the country,
in both men AND women, cardiovascular disease (heart attack, stroke,
high blood pressure, heart failure) deserves reverence. A most
remarkable aspect of this disease is its strong association with
nutritional and activity habits. I can discuss your individual risk and
map out an appropriate eating and activity strategy. My advice will be
an adjunct to, not a replacement for, your medical therapy. I will
follow the American Heart Association’s latest nutritional guidelines
in my plan for you.
Diabetes Optimal control of diabetes requires conscious eating and
activity habits integrated into your medical care. My goal is to help
you permanently fix those habits into your lifestyle. This usually
takes the form of carbohydrate-controlled meal plans coupled with
calorie and activity guidelines. Diabetics have an automatically higher
risk of cardiovascular disease and I address this serious link in my
advice. Again, my advice is not a replacement for your medical therapy.
I will follow the American Diabetes Association’s latest nutritional
guidelines in my plan for you.
